WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) praised the Senate for passing a federal budget that balances without raising taxes on Americans:
“Under the leadership of Budget Chairman Mike Enzi, the Senate just fulfilled another basic responsibility of governing and an important promise that Republicans made to the American people. Our balanced budget will grow our economy, reduce the debt, repeal Obamacare and rein in Washington overreach. We will continue to move forward with a positive agenda that delivers freedom and opportunity to people across our country. Our balanced budget proves that the Senate is finally working again on behalf of all Americans.”
The budget includes Senator Barrasso’s amendment that limits the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from adopting an expanded and broad regulatory definition of “Waters of the United States.” The amendment passed the Senate on March 25, 2015 by a vote of 59 to 40.
