“And I would say to the President of the United States, it’s time to call off your surrogates and quit blaming the people that have been damaged and harmed by your health care law.”
WASHINGTON, DC –Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) delivered the following remarks at a press conference with Senate Republican leadership:
“As someone who practiced medicine for 25 years, taking care of lots of families in Wyoming, my patients and I both know how important the doctor patient relationship is.
“And the President said, ‘If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.’ He also said, ‘If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance.’
“Now we know that, for years, the President knew that that just wasn’t true. And rather than apologizing to the American people for the damage that he has done with his health care law as we see millions of people losing their coverage, being cancelled, the President and Democrats have doubled down on the dishonesty.
“And just last night in Boston, with the President standing by, the Governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, actually blamed the people—the citizens who have received these cancellation notices and actually called them ‘free-riders.’
“And I would say to the President of the United States, it’s time to call off your surrogates and quit blaming the people that have been damaged and harmed by your health care law.”
