Barrasso: After Tech Disaster, President Must Delay Individual Mandate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) responded to President Obama’s statement regarding the broken Obamacare website:

“After this technological disaster, the President must delay his individual mandate.  By the time the Administration’s new team finally fixes this embarrassing failure, many Americans will already be required to pay a tax for insurance that they couldn’t even sign up for online.  It’s absolutely outrageous.

“Three years ago, President Obama focused on employing the ‘best and the brightest’ tech experts on his campaign – instead of on his governing team. While he won the election, the American people have lost any chance of accessing affordable health care from this unworkable website and law.

“The President’s statement today was another example of this Administration jamming through a law that is unaffordable and unworkable in order to save the President’s signature legislative legacy. If the Obama Administration really wanted to improve health care for Americans, they need to deliver serious action instead of more excuses and broken promises.”
