Vows to Fight Massive Omnibus Spending Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) delivered the following statement regarding his vote on the bipartisan agreement to prevent tax hikes and his upcoming vote on the Omnibus spending bill:
“I voted against raising taxes on January 1. After spending the weekend with many Wyoming families and small business owners that would be hit hardest, I am more convinced than ever that we need to stop these tax increases today.
“Soon, the Senate will vote on a massive 1924 page, $1.1 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill. This fiscal fiasco clearly demonstrates why we must allow taxpayers to keep their hard earned dollars. Americans cannot trust Washington to spend their money wisely. The American people deserve better. They deserve to know that Washington got their message in November. I will fight against wasteful spending and do everything in my power to ensure this bill does not pass the Senate.”
