WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation sponsored by Congressman Cory Gardner (R-CO) that will expedite liquefied natural gas exports from the United States:
“Bipartisan support for exporting LNG continues to grow stronger each day. It’s now the Senate’s turn to pass a bill that will expedite LNG exports, create jobs at home and strengthen our national security.
“Meanwhile, President Obama should stop stalling on the dozens of pending LNG export applications languishing at the Department of Energy. It’s time for the President to pick up the pen he talks so much about and approve these important applications now.”
Background:
Senator Barrasso has filed legislation requiring the Department of Energy to approve LNG exports to all World Trade Organization member countries.
