WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, released the following statement today regarding Democrats’ plans for a government takeover of health care:
“Medicare for All would hurt patients across America. A government takeover of health care would result in longer lines, longer wait times and lower-quality care.
“By banning private insurance, this radical proposal would take away health care from 180 million working Americans. It would also destroy American innovation that leads to breakthroughs in treatments and therapies.
“Single-payer health care failed in Senator Sanders’ home state of Vermont. It fails patients in Canada and Great Britain every day. And it would destroy the high quality of care in the United States.”
