Barrasso: Laramie Fire Dept Receives $50K Grant

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Barrasso, R-Wyo., today welcomed news from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that the Albany County Fire Department will receive a grant of nearly $50,000 for operations and safety.

“Firefighters are instrumental to keeping our communities safe and secure,” Barrasso said. “This money will go a long way to ensuring that the Albany County Fire Department has the funding they need to continue safeguarding their community.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) focuses on enhancing response capabilities and protecting the health and safety of the public. The grants enable local fire departments and emergency medical organizations to receive training, conduct first responder health and safety programs, and buy equipment and response vehicles.

AFG is administered by the National Preparedness Directorate and the United States Fire Administration.
