Barrasso Outlines New Democrat Health Care Spin

Washington Breaks More Promises, Spends More Money, Delivers Less Care

When the health care bill was signed into law, Democrats were extremely eager to tell Americans about their vote.  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said:

“This is a happy day…We’re going to hear an earful, but it’s going to be an earful of wonderment and happiness that people waited for a long time."

But only six months later, the new law isn’t greeted with “wonderment and happiness” – and Democrats are singing a different tune.  In fact, now that 56% of Americans want the law repealed, Democrats have completely changed their message about the new law.

Recently, Politico ran a story entitled “Dems retreat on health care cost pitch.”  The article explains how:

“Key White House allies are dramatically shifting their attempts to defend health care legislation, abandoning claims that it will reduce costs and the deficit and instead stressing a promise to ‘improve it."

Today, Senator John Barrasso spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate about the Democrats’ new messaging strategy.
