“Washington took action to repeal one of the most absurd provisions of the President’s new law.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) delivered the following statement after the Senate voted to repeal the “1099” section of the President’s health spending law.  This provision requires business owners to submit individual 1099 reporting forms for each business-to-business transaction of more than $600 a year.

“Small businesses across our country have been completely overwhelmed by Obamacare’s expensive and irrational mandates.  Today, Washington took action to repeal one of the most absurd provisions of the President’s new law.  Because of Senator Johanns’ (R-NE) leadership, small businesses will no longer have to fill out endless 1099 forms for minor business purchases.  America’s job creators won today.   

“We will continue to fight to entirely repeal and replace Obamacare.  We are committed to breaking down more barriers that prevent Americans from getting the care they need, from the doctor they want, at a price they can afford.”
