WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement regarding U.S. Senator Tom Coburn’s (R-OK) decision to retire from the Senate at the end of 2014:
 
“Tom Coburn is one of the most respected members of the Senate because he is a man of his word. During the years I’ve worked with him, he has always based his decisions on principle and experience instead of politics and partisanship.  As a fellow doctor, I’ve especially appreciated his wisdom and help on important policies that affect Americans’ health.  
 
“Tom may be retiring at the end of the year, but he’s not slowing down anytime soon.  It’s clear that he’ll continue to win important victories in his legislative battle to cut wasteful Washington spending, increase transparency and give more people control over their own health care decisions.”
