Barrasso Statement on NFIB Decision to Join Lawsuit Against Health Care Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) made the following statement regarding the National Federation of Independent Business’s (NFIB) decision to join 20 states in challenging the constitutionality of the new health care law:

“President Obama promised that the new health care law would create new jobs and ensure more businesses offer coverage to their employees. After taking a look at the long list of taxes and mandates included in the law, America’s small business owners are speaking out in opposition. They know that the law will kill jobs, strangle economic growth and make it harder for them to provide high quality insurance to their employees.

“The NFIB is a thoughtful, bipartisan organization. Its decision to challenge the new health care mandate speaks volumes about the law’s devastating economic consequences.”
