Barrasso Thanks Troops on Wyoming’s First Annual “Silver Star Banner Day”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) made the following statement in honor of Wyoming’s first annual “Silver Star Banner Day.”

“The brave men and women serving in our armed forces sacrifice their lives every day for the safety and prosperity of our great country.  The people of Wyoming have always supported our troops and their families. Silver Star Banner Day will serve as a reminder for everyone to continue to show our appreciation to those serving our nation. By including military personnel and their families in community events, we honor those who fight to keep us free.”
Background:

Wyoming Governor, Dave Freudenthal, at the request of Maj. Gen. Ed Wright, has proclaimed May 1, 2010, as "Silver Star Banner Day" to express appreciation for all the families in Wyoming, and the nation, who continue to remind people of the daily sacrifices of our military personnel.
