UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) recently visited with Wyoming National Guard troops serving in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Barrasso visited with more than 30 members of the Wyoming Air National Guard’s 153rd Airlift Wing who are supporting military operations in a variety of roles in the Middle East. Members of the 153rd are from Casper, Cheyenne, Douglas, Pine Bluffs, Rock Springs, Torrington and Wright.
Barrasso shared lunch with the service members, toured the base and was briefed by military officials on operations.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to visit with and thank Wyoming troops serving overseas,” said Barrasso. “Wyoming can be proud of the outstanding job the members of the 153rd are doing to keep America safe and free. These brave men and women go to work every day in temperatures that regularly exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. It was great to talk to them about their families back home, Cheyenne Frontier Days and how they’re looking forward to a new Cowboy football season.”
