Barrasso Votes Again for Wyoming Rural Health

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Barrasso, R-Wyo., issued the following statement regarding his vote on a Medicare bill which fails to meet the rural health needs of Wyoming.

“I strongly oppose cuts to Medicare reimbursements. Last year, I voted for a bill that protected doctors, nurses, and hospitals from facing large Medicare payment cuts that would have made it harder for them to care for seniors."

“I cannot support legislation that makes it harder for the people of Wyoming to find the care they need, when they need it.”

“Washington does not understand rural health care. They showed that when they failed to provide $23.4 million for eight Wyoming hospitals and additional funding for rural home health providers. They also failed to include the Craig Thomas Rural Health care provisions in the final bill.”

"This bill might have been good for Washington, but it was not good for Wyoming. I voted against this bill because it fails to help rural health care in Wyoming.”
