WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) voted Friday evening in support of a bill written by Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio. The majority in the Senate, however, defeated the plan.
“The American people have made it clear. They want Washington to cut spending now, control spending in the future, and be held accountable always. Tonight, I voted for Speaker Boehner’s bill because it is the best option for America. While the bill isn’t perfect, it provides real spending cuts and prevents default.
“I will continue working each day to balance the books and force Washington to live within its means.”
