WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) introduced the Wyoming Department of Transportation Director John Cox before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Senator Barrasso invited Director Cox to testify on the importance of maintaining a national highway system that includes rural states like Wyoming.
During the hearing, Senator Barrasso stressed the need for Washington to reduce red tape that slow projects down and drive project costs up.
“Over the past years the highway program has become more and more complicated. Red tape continues to slow projects and that, of course, drives up the cost,” said Barrasso.
