U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service made the right call in not listing prairie dog as threatened or endangered.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) praised the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (USFWS) decision that the white-tailed prairie dog does not warrant protection as a threatened or endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. Barrasso delivered the following statement:
“The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service made the right call today. Their decision was based on sound science and common sense. This prevents the federal government from forcing even more costly regulations upon our small businesses and ranches. Today’s ruling will ultimately save jobs in Wyoming and across the country.”
